I’m back and this week there was no trips to Ireland… unfortunately! It’s been a quiet week which truthfully is normal for me. The past few week’s probably made me seem like I always have stuff planned and I’m on the go but realistically that happens every now and then. I have a like a month where everything happens together and then like 3 months of no plans! Don’t get me wrong I love when I am kept going, but sometimes it’s just nice to have nothing to do, you know what I mean? I always think we live in a world where people think they have to be busy all the time. Like it’s a bad thing to admit you have free time or time to just chill and relax. It’s actually something i find really irritating. I cannot stand when people try to guilt others by boasting how they are always ‘busy’ and how it must be great to have so much free time…. I get it, some people are busier than me, no worries! Along with maybe having children, they have a house to run and they may work in a full time job too, but someone in the same position as myself, it really bugs me. There are days where we are all busy, thats only natural, but you don’t have to use it as a weapon of feeling superior to others. Maybe you aren’t that busy all the time, maybe you just have poor time management skills… ever think of that! jokes jokes!! I just think we need to stop using the word ‘busy’ as if it makes you more important. It doesn’t. – Okay thats my rant of the day over. Sorry about that! lol
Lets crack on with my catch up….
WHAT I’VE BEEN WEARING:
Some of the outfits I have been wearing this week are old so I don’t have links but I just wanted to show you different methods of styling by using clothes you already have. Don’t be afraid to re-style what you have on a daily basis. You don’t always need a new outfit every week.
The past week I wasn’t really any place other than work, football and at the apartment so my looks below are more casual work outfits without being in a tracksuit!
WHAT I BOUGHT:
The only thing i bought this week was some food shopping! As much as I would like to, I can’t afford to be shopping every week but thats cool because you know keep the carbon footprint down an all that! So instead of showing you my food shop (but if that is something you want to see, let me know!) i am showing you my trainers that I have had for a few years and every now and then I whip them out and they feel like new to me!
I’ve kept them in good condition and that’s the key if you want your pieces to last a long time. I wash my trainers when I can to keep them looking fresh and cover them in crep protect.
WHAT I’VE BEEN LISTENING TO:
This week the podcast of choice is ‘The Blindboy podcast’. I was recommended to listen to this by a few people in the best couple of weeks, so I decided to subscribe and have a listen. I have to say the first one i listened to was deep. It was the latest episode and it’s a hell of a listen. I stuck with it and had a listen to some earlier episodes, it’s good and I think I will add it to my list of things to listen to when i’m out for a walk. I find the more I have to listen to, the further I’ll walk so win, win really.
I also have to mention what song I’ve been listening to this week, it’s Ed Sheeran and Justin Beiber’s song ‘I don’t Care’ and I am obsessed and have it on whenever I get a chance. It is 100% my favouite song of the week so I suggest you all download it and fall in love with it like myself!
WHAT I’VE BEEN WATCHING:
So myself and Arnie started watching Line of Duty and I am obsessed. I am the worlds worst when I start a series though because I like to binge watch it. I could honestly sit and watch it all day long. Thankfully, Arnie has more control and doesn’t let me take the piss! haha If you haven’t started it and you are looking for something, watch it. We haven’t seen all the series yet but so far, so good. If you have any other series, throw them my way for when we finish this.
WHAT I’VE BEEN READING:
So a couple of weeks ago I talked about the book I was reading ‘Thirteen: The serial killer isn’t on trial. He’s on the jury’ by Steve Cavanagh and told you how I was struggling to get in to it…. That didn’t change. I just couldn’t focus when reading it so I have put it on the shelf for now and decided to read ‘The Importance of Being Aisling’ by Emer McLysaght & Sarah Breen. It’s their second book, a continuation of ‘Oh My God, What a Complete Aisling’ and I am really enjoying it. It’s not a heavy read, I can pick it up and enjoy it and have a laugh. I would highly recommend both books if you want something light hearted. Since I don’t get the train to work anymore, my reading time has been cut a lot, so I didn’t get this one finished just yet but I will soon.
Whilst I am here talking books. One I feel I have to share with you is something I read last year and I can honestly say I couldn’t put it down. It’s a must read. The book is called ‘This is Going to Hurt’ by Adam Kay. It’s gripping because it’s a factual account of a junior doctor working for the NHS. He shares his diary from his time in the hospital and I just think it’s such a good read. I definitely think it’s worth adding to your reading list.
This week I am off again on an adventure for a night in Oxford with one of my friends, Esther. It’s an award she won at her work and she asked me along with her. We head off tomorrow afternoon for a nights stay and some activities on Thursday. Tonight I am going to pack some nice bits to take as it’s a fancy pants place. I’ll be sure to take some snaps and share my trip with you! I have also been working on my post for Thursday which hopefully I will get finished tomorrow morning before I leave.
Enjoy the rest of your week and do let me know if you read any of the books or have any suggestions for me!
