Another week, another trip back home to the Emerald Isle. This time without the knowledge of my wonderful parents. Last weekend, my parents celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. The reason for my surprise visit was because originally we had planned on just having a small BBQ and it would be a cute bonus but closer to the time, a party was organised and although it was difficult telling my mother I would be missing said party. It was worth it when I did get to surprise her and dad.

Myself and Arnie got the Saturday morning flight into Knock. I don’t know about you but I love the feeling you get when you are at the airport and you are so looking forward to flying someplace. Going home will never tire for me. Although I love my life in England, I miss my family all the time. I love getting to see them. My sister and nephew collected us from the airport and we made our way to the home house. Mam wasn’t there when we first arrived, it was just dad. He got a shock when he seen me walk in and couldn’t wait to see mam’s reaction. She too got a big surprise when she seen me, and thankfully both were delighted to have my self and Arnie home for a couple of days.

The party wasn’t anything massive. We invited family and some friends to celebrate with us and have some food & drinks. I think it’s just so amazing that they have been together for so long and in my eyes are still so much in love. I honestly couldn’t have asked for better role models in my life.

Although, we didn’t party too late I did enjoy a bit of a sleep in on Sunday. I knew we had no big plans to go anywhere or do anything really so it was lovely. We got up, had a nice breakfast and just chilled out for the day. My sisters came over in the evening and we all had dinner together and a few drinks. It was just amazing having no plans for the day, just relaxing. Sometimes I think we forget that we need to have a little break every now and then to regroup and focus.

Monday morning came by as quick as ever and just like that I was making space in my handbag for mam’s brown bread to come back with me. It’s the part I dread the most about any trip, having to leave but as mam always tells me”you have to go to come back”. At least I don’t have too long to wait until I see them again because I have a wedding in a couple of weeks at home so I will be back for that.

When we left Ireland, the sun was out and the weather was looking good. We then landed back into what looked like a winters day in England. Off we went back to the apartment to chill out and finally finish Line of Duty and all I say is, they better make a season 6. I loved it!

A little round up for you…….

What I wore:
The past week I don’t think I have been amazing for taking outfit pictures ( I really need to up my game on this again). I have popped what I wore with the links to my parents party. The jumpsuit was so comfortable and I can’t wait to wear it again. I think it will look lovely with heels for an evening out or change the top I wore inside and style it for work.

What I’m watching:
It’s no secret I am a massive foodie. I enjoy sitting down to every meal I have, daily and love really tasty food. This week I have been catching up on loads of Donal Skehan’s You Tube videos. Do you follow him? My sister, Tara recommend me to follow him and I am so glad I have. None of the recipes feel too difficult to try and I cannot wait to try add some of them to the dinner list!

This week’s wish list:
Below are just a few pieces I have stumbled across this week and have my eye on.

What’s next?
This weekend I am booked out! I have a weeding to attend on Saturday with Arnie and I still haven’t a clue what I am going to wear. I am thinking of recycling something from the wardrobe. I have a couple of options I think could work but I really should get this sorted before Saturday rolls around and suddenly I have nothing! It won’t be a mega late one either as I have a football semi final on Sunday, so I will need to be fresh for that. I’ll be sure to take some photos of what I do decide on wearing to share with you!
