January. The first week over. Back in England and well here’s how it’s been…
When I wrote last week’s post, I was in a really positive mindset and was itching to just keep soaring along on a high, but I swear after a couple of days, my mood slightly slipped and I just felt, blahhhhhhhhh. I am well aware that’s not really a descriptive feeling, but you know when you feel in a mood but you’re not in a mood, but you’re not feeling chipper either…. That’s how I was feeling, especially Wednesday night. It was like reality hit. I was back to normality and the fun of Christmas was well and truly over. That hump-day lull if you will. As soon as I realised I was starting to get them Jan’ blues I opened the notes section on my phone and started to make a list of everything that I wanted to write about in the coming months. It can be so easy to sit and feel sad about nothing because you’re bored and I found this helped a lot. It made me focus on what I want to talk about on my blog. Whether or not people will be interested in reading what I have to say is another story! If you do have any topics you would like me to discuss, just let me know. I am always looking to know what you would like to see.
I started back on my WGM (Weekly General Meetings) with Esther. This time to save the dolla dolla, we congregated at my place. I hadn’t seen her in nearly three weeks and for us thats quite a long time so we had a proper catch up about our Christmas and New Years. I am absolutely rubbish at replying to texts, especially when I am at home which Esther knows, so we hadn’t spoken a whole lot. After a few hours, a cup of tea and a glass or two of wine we had put the world to rights again.
I can’t say I was productive on the fitness front. I took my last week of no football training as an excuse to be lazy! It didn’t do me me any favours though because when i’m not being active, I swear i’m more inclined to not cook or prepare lunches for myself. This also didn’t help that blahhh feeling I know. I will say however, I got my book finished. I spoke about how I was reading ‘Everything I know about love’ by Dolly Alderton last week in my post. It was fantastic and I would highly recommend it, mainly to anyone in their late 20’s. I think it resonates with that age group the best. If you haven’t already, put it on your list of books to read!
Next up: I am reading one I have been meaning to read for quite some time. It’s ‘The New Fashion Rules’ by Victoria McGrath. Some of you who follow a lot of bloggers etc. may know her as ‘In The Frow’. It’s a book about the digital fashion industry now. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but so far i’m liking it. I will keep you posted on it. After that, I have a few more books stacked up and in waiting. If you have any recommendations, please feel free to send them my way. I will always appreciate them.
Come the weekend, I picked up the pace and made sure I got the whole apartment cleaned from top to bottom. I knew this way the way to get out of a funk and pull myself together. Now, please bear in mind the place wasn’t dirty but after being away for a couple of week’s the dust was building up and I wanted the place to feel fresh. I got it all done, made some tea and put on a face mask for a little while. I felt like a new woman! Having a day of no make up and just feeling so clean is absolute bliss, don’t you think?
On Sunday, after picking up a few bits we would need for the week in the supermarket I decided to put my baking skills to use. Some of you won’t know this but I come from a home of an amazing baker. So much so, I should be better at it, I just don’t ever think anyone will enjoy what I make! Anyway, Sunday I made two loaves of brown bread. One for us, one for my friend and I am pretty impressed with how they turned out. (I’m giving myself a pat on the back here! haha) So much so, I am thinking this might have to be a regular thing. So if you want some bread, hit me up! lol.
One place I was very productive, was on the blogging front. I have three other posts up since I got back so if you haven’t already I have linked them below for you to have a look at.

Hope you enjoyed my little catch up this week. All going well, I will be back Thursday with a fashion post.
